The Italeri 2508S - 1/32 Nieuport 17 captures the profile and construction of the iconic French fighter, tracing its development from the earlier Nieuport 11. The model notes the larger wing area and a more potent engine that improved climb and manoeuvrability. Early aircraft carried a Lewis 7.7 mm machine gun, while later examples were fitted with a synchronised 7.7 mm Vickers gun.
This kit represents the Nieuport 17 in service on the Western Front from mid 1916 and its contribution to rebalancing air clashes against German types. Famous pilots such as Albert Ball and W.A. Bishop achieved successes flying the type. The set includes decals for five different versions so builders can create historically accurate schemes.
