Scale overview of the Italeri 3631 Jaguar XJ220 model

The Jaguar XJ220 earned its place in supercar lore by reaching a top speed of 350 km/h and holding that production record from 1992 until 1994. The car began as a passion project by Jaguar designers called "The Saturday Club" and was unveiled at the 1988 British Motor Show before production started in 1991.

Italeri's 1/24 scale kit captures the XJ220's low, aerodynamic silhouette and period styling. The parts are moulded in PS plastic and the kit is intended for builders who enjoy precision painting and assembly. It makes a faithful small-scale tribute to the original engineering and design.

Specifications

  • Scale: 1/24
  • Material: PS Plastic
  • Assembly: Glue required
  • Paint: Not included
This Italeri 3631 kit is best for intermediate modellers who are comfortable with trimming, filling and painting. Beginners can attempt it but should expect a learning curve.
The out-of-box build is complete as moulded. Some builders choose aftermarket wheels, decals or photo-etch sets to raise detail, but these are optional and depend on personal goals.
Remove parts from sprues cleanly, sand attachment points and dry-fit assemblies. Washing parts in mild soapy water removes mould release agents for better paint adhesion.
