The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gull Wing ranks among the most recognisable cars from the 1950s, debuting in 1954. This Italeri 1/24 model aims to mirror the car's elegant proportions and the distinctive gull-wing doors that made it memorable for collectors and modellers.
When new the 300 SL featured a tubular frame and a 2,996 cc engine, with top speeds recorded near 260 km/h (162 mph). Its door design was a response to chassis layout, and this kit references those engineering choices for authenticity.
Experienced hobbyists will appreciate the detailed mouldings and chromed parts included in the Italeri kit. A colour instruction sheet helps guide construction, and once completed the model displays the luxury and craftsmanship of the original 300 SL.
