The Porsche 944, built between 1982 and 1991, remains notable for combining elegant styling with balanced mechanical layout. Derived from the 924, the 944 kept a sleek silhouette while introducing upgrades. The initial models used a 2479cc fuel injected engine with 163 horsepower and a transaxle configuration for better weight distribution.
The higher performance 944 S from 1987 featured a 16-valve engine with 189 horsepower, capable of doing 0 to 100 km/h in roughly 7.2 seconds. The cabriolet version arriving in 1989 offered an open-top alternative that found a strong market overseas.
The Italeri 1/24 kit captures the convertible profile and period cues of the 944 S Cabrio, giving hobbyists realistic parts and engraved trim to assemble. It is well suited to modellers interested in accurate restoration-style builds or customised paintwork.
