The March 1942 St Nazaire operation, known as "Chariot", sent Royal Navy vessels and Commandos against a vital German dry dock. Among the small craft was the modified Vosper MTB 74, fitted with foredeck torpedo tubes and engine silencers to help it operate stealthily. Despite its efforts to disable defences and launch torpedoes the boat was lost in the action.
The Italeri 5619S reproduces the MTB 74 at 1/35 with updated moulds and included photo-etched components to raise the level of detail. This kit is suited to hobbyists who enjoy precise assembly and realistic finishing; paints and glue must be purchased separately.
