This Trumpeter 07293 1:72 plastic kit reproduces the German JagdTiger Sd.Kfz.186 on the Henschel chassis, with the Zimmerit coating shown as moulded surface texture and a compact parts layout for neat display modelling.
The JagdTiger concept began in 1943 as a heavy tank-destroyer. A wooden mock-up was presented in October 1943 and the vehicle was intended to provide long-range anti-armor support for infantry and armoured units. Two prototype versions were finished in February 1944 — Porsche-sprung and Henschel-sprung — with the Henschel design using nine roadwheels. Initially called Jagdpanzer VI, it was later assigned Sd.Kfz.186; production from mid-1944 remained limited while Panther production was prioritised.
The model captures the JagdTiger's external form at 1:72 scale and shows Zimmerit texturing on the hull. Construction follows conventional small-scale injection kit methods: parts grouped on multiple sprues and a 94-piece count that is approachable for modellers experienced with small armour kits. The reduced footprint makes it easy to include in space-conscious displays.
Cast textures and panel lines are modelled to convey the heavy-armour appearance. To enhance the Zimmerit effect at this scale, careful priming, preshading and gentle drybrushing will help bring out depth. Decals in the box provide Germany ARMY markings and the moderate part count reduces common alignment headaches on compact kits.
Trumpeter 07293 delivers a small-scale JagdTiger that balances external authenticity with a build-friendly parts count, ideal for collectors and modellers focused on late-war German armour.
