The Scorpion has long been a go-to for fans of classic buggies, and the Kyosho 30613 revival keeps that heritage alive. With roots in the early 80s, this latest edition merges recognizable lines with upgrades tailored for current off-road driving.
This release retains the semi-trailing arm suspension look while introducing 6061T6 forged aluminium parts to increase torsional strength and resilience. The robust two-piece die-cast aluminium gearbox, complete with differential gears and a slipper clutch, adds protection and better traction control when pushing hard.
Precision 48 pitch gears reduce drivetrain fluctuations for a more direct throttle feel. A countersunk chassis underside decreases ground drag and improves longevity. The oil shocks use aluminium cylinders and stainless shafts for consistent damping and come fitted with the Scorpion-style colour caps.
The buggy ships as a kit to assemble, with the gearbox and oil shocks already pre-built to speed progress. Included items like the clear polycarbonate body, decals and basic tools make the first sessions straightforward. The wide front track and grippy tyres help the car maintain line on rougher tracks.
If you enjoy period styling combined with parts that stand up to current off-road demands, the Kyosho 30613 is a satisfying kit to build, tune and run.
