Back on Track: The OPTIMA PRO Revival

The Kyosho 30620 - 1/10 EP 4WD Racing Buggy OPTIMA PRO revives the rear-motor 4WD layout with several contemporary upgrades. Released as part of Kyosho's Vintage Series lineup, it captures the classic form while integrating components suited to modern hobby use.

Period Bodywork with Modern Drive Options

The model keeps the iconic aerodynamic shell and includes pre-cut lines for fitting the Javelin wing. Power is delivered through a belt-type 4WD system for efficient drive; owners can opt for a chain-drive conversion using the OT226 chain if preferred. Using 48-pitch pinion and spur gears and a slipper clutch helps protect gears when running higher output motors at the track.

Designed for Precise Assembly and Service

Construction features a moulded resin radio plate reminiscent of the original, while battery retention uses hook-and-loop straps to suit current pack sizes. Ball bearings are fitted throughout to improve rolling smoothness and longevity. Hex screws tidy up the build and the chassis accepts a range of optional Vintage Series parts for personalisation.
