Among 1/12 scale on-road RC, the Kyosho Plazma series is a benchmark. The MKIII Limited is a revival of the late 80s favourite, pairing the original low-weight handling with improved materials and a few contemporary tweaks to make it competitive on current club tracks.
First introduced in 1987, the Plazma MKIII Limited stood out for punching above its weight against 4WD rivals. The new edition keeps that competitive spirit while adding a high-grade ball-differential akin to the Fantom EP-4WD Ext and reinforcing key parts with carbon fibre for better rigidity.
The main chassis remains a carbon fibre plate, and the upper plate has been upgraded from FRP to carbon fibre to reduce flex. The rear now uses an improved ball-diff for smoother power transfer, while the front uses a tried-and-true king-pin and coil arrangement with adjustable caster for tuning steering precision.
Small changes yield big results: altering caster for sharper turn-in, tweaking rear damper spring tension for balance, and ensuring the ball-diff is tuned correctly will improve consistency and corner speed.
This Plazma MKIII Limited update keeps the classic driving character but adds the parts needed for consistent modern performance, ideal for enthusiasts who race vintage designs.
