The Kyosho IF144B swing shaft serves as a direct spare for the rear suspension pivot on Inferno MP Series NEO 3.0 and 4.0 buggies. The following notes emphasise installation steps, fit checks, and the shaft's contribution to rear suspension geometry and upkeep.
In operation, the swing shaft locates the rear hub assembly and establishes the rotational axis of the swing arm. If bushings or the shaft wear, play will develop that negatively affects traction and predictability. Replacing the worn component restores the correct pivot alignment and reduces unwanted movement at the wheel.
Typical replacement requires removing the rear hub and partially dismantling the swing arm pivot area. During assembly examine retaining clips, bushings, screws, and pins and reuse original hardware where suitable. Use properly sized hex drivers for the fasteners and move the swing arm through its full travel to check for binding after reassembly.
For setup, the effect is stability rather than a power increase: a well-fitting swing shaft reduces free play that can obscure suspension response, which helps when fine-tuning shocks and anti-squat. When investigating rear instability begin with a shaft and hub inspection before altering spring or shock choices.
Select the IF144B to recover correct rear pivot geometry or to replace a worn shaft, and double-check the part against the original before completing reassembly.
