Overview of the ZX7.5 diff housing

The LA402-01 Diff. Gear Case Set from Kyosho is manufactured as a replacement housing for the LAZER ZX7.5 differential assembly. It secures the bevel gears and bearings and is designed to accept the same internals used by the ZX7.5 diff.

Confirm fitment is for a LAZER ZX7.5 layout before installation. Fitting the case requires opening the gearbox to remove the existing diff, transplanting the gears and bearings into the new shell, and checking endplay and mesh during rebuild. Basic hand tools, including hex drivers, are normally adequate for the task, and precise bearing orientation is important to prevent misalignment.

The case itself determines gearbox geometry and will not change gear ratios, yet it affects how service and tuning are performed: even torque on fasteners and clean bearings support consistent diff behavior. Inspect mating faces and bolt engagement when fitting the new housing, and perform a controlled test run once reassembled to confirm correct operation.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Kyosho items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Measure your gearbox layout and verify the diff mounting points match the LAZER ZX7.5 specification; cross-check part numbers to be certain the LA402-01 is compatible with your chassis.
Prepare a clean workspace, a set of hex drivers, and a parts tray for bearings and gears. Clean components before transfer and keep fasteners organised to maintain correct reassembly order.
Use the same differential grease or oil you normally run in your ZX7.5 setup. Ensure bearings are free of grit and use appropriate lubricant on gear faces to preserve longevity.
Listen for binding or rough rotation, inspect endplay and side clearance, and check that screws fully seat without forcing; these are signs a bearing or gear might be misaligned.
