Performance Carbon Shock Tower for Optima Mid from Kyosho

The Kyosho OTW136 is a purpose-made 3mm carbon fiber front shock tower for the Optima Mid line. It replaces bulkier FRP pieces with a stiffer, lighter plate that helps maintain alignment and reduces flex under aggressive driving.

Why Pick Carbon Fiber for Suspension Upgrades?

Carbon fiber is prized for delivering strong rigidity at low weight, so switching to the Kyosho OTW136 gives clearer suspension inputs and improved consistency across laps. Racers and serious hobbyists will notice crisper steering and better shock response.

Installation Notes to Maximise Durability

Use the recommended bolts and ensure even tightening to prevent point loading. Inspect the mounting area after the first few runs and consider matched high-quality dampers to get the best handling benefits from the new tower.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Kyosho items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Many Optima Mid years share mounting geometry, but variations exist. Confirm the mounting hole layout matches your chassis before fitting the OTW136.
Wipe off dirt and grit after runs and avoid harsh solvents; light cleaning with soapy water keeps the carbon in good condition and prevents abrasive wear around fasteners.
Standard hardware usually works, but using aluminium spacers or lock washers can prevent loosening and protect the carbon from compression damage over time.
Switching from FRP to a 3mm carbon tower typically reduces weight at the front end, which can slightly improve agility while keeping strength high.
