X26 steel front bumper overview

Serpent designed the SER402181 Bumper X26 as a steel front replacement for the Medius X26 steel EP chassis range. Engineered to preserve factory mounting geometry, it integrates with the stock front-end assembly and mechanical interfaces without requiring changes to the chassis layout.

The steel construction increases the vehicle's nose weight and boosts impact resistance, offering tuners a straightforward way to influence front-end behavior. When combined with suspension and shock adjustments, the extra mass can change turn-in characteristics and straight-line stability.

Fitting is straightforward for standard Medius X26 configurations: the bumper fixes to the original bumper bracket and uses the stock fastener locations. No chassis drilling or modification is needed for the specified compatible models, although checking clearances before full use on modified cars is recommended.

Fit this steel bumper when you need a direct-fit front replacement that retains OEM mounting while adding deliberate front mass for setup tuning and improved impact protection on 1/10 electric platforms.

If your conversion keeps the stock bumper bracket and mounting points, the SER402181 should fit. If the bracket or mounting geometry was altered during conversion, confirm fit before installation.
The added steel weight shifts balance forward, which can change the slip and steering feel for drift setups. Expect reduced initial oversteer and consider counterbalancing with rear weight or suspension tweaks.
The bumper can be used as supplied, but applying a corrosion-resistant coating or paint is advised if you will run in wet or coastal conditions.
Compared to plastic, the steel bumper offers higher impact resistance and greater mass influence for tuning. Plastic may absorb small impacts better but will not add the same front-end inertia.
