This 13T motor pinion is intended as a drop-in replacement for electric RC drivetrains that share the stated geometry. Constructed from 40Cr steel with a hardened black surface, the pinion features 13 teeth, a 0.5mm module and a round 2.2mm motor bore. Retention is by two 3x3 set screws.
When fitted the pinion acts as the interface between the motor shaft and the primary or spur gear, providing a compact and durable drive point. Check that the motor shaft accepts a 2.2mm bore and that the mating gear has a 0.5mm module before installation. Proper mesh and alignment are required, so fit the gear while the drivetrain is assembled and confirm concentricity before final tightening.
For maintenance and ratio tuning the pinion lets you swap tooth counts while keeping a consistent tooth profile. The hardened 40Cr construction is chosen to improve resistance to wear under normal RC loads compared with softer alternatives.
