XF-52 Flat Earth from Tamiya 81752 - Matte Acrylic for Models

The Tamiya 81752 XF-52 Flat Earth comes in a 10ml bottle and uses water-soluble acrylic resins, making it suitable for hobbyists painting kits and figures. It provides solid coverage and a matte finish on styrol resins, Styrofoam, timber and common modelling plastics.

Great for Fine Detail Work

This acrylic handles well with both brushes and airbrushes, flowing steadily and allowing gradual blending for washes and highlights. For airbrushing, recommended Tamiya thinners include 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520 or 87077 to help achieve even atomisation.

Compatible with Many Projects

The flat earth tone fits a wide range of projects, from small-scale figures to larger dioramas. Its subdued hue is especially useful for military and period subjects where a natural, low sheen is needed.

Is XF-52 water based?

Yes. XF-52 is water soluble while wet, so brushes and spills clean up easily with water before the paint cures.
