The Tamiya XF-63 German Grey in a 10ml bottle is a handy acrylic for scale modellers and diorama makers. Made from water-soluble acrylic resins, it adheres well to styrol resins, Styrofoam, wood and most modelling plastics. It applies smoothly and gives good coverage whether brushed or airbrushed.

Compatibility and Thinner Advice

Designed for general hobby surfaces, this acrylic works well for base coats and detailing. For airbrushing, use recommended Tamiya thinners like 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520 or 87077 to reach the desired spray consistency. The paint accepts layering and feathering for weathering effects.

Modelmaking Hints

Ensure parts are degreased and primed before painting to avoid adhesion issues. Adjust thinner amounts to match your airbrush setup and practice on a scrap piece first. This paint is not formulated for direct use on bare metal without a suitable primer.
