Surface Compatibility

This paint adheres well to standard modelling materials such as styrol resins, Styrofoam and wood, along with most common model plastics. It produces a steady flat blue coat that is easy to layer or blend.

Preparing for the Airbrush

For best airbrush performance, thin XF-8 with recommended Tamiya thinners like 81020, 81030, 81040, 81520 or 87077. Filter the mix if necessary and test spray on scrap to dial in pressure and atomisation.

Can I use this on polycarbonate RC bodies?

This acrylic is not formulated for polycarbonate (lexan) surfaces. Use paints specifically designed for polycarbonate when finishing RC car bodies to ensure flexibility and adhesion.

How should I store unopened bottles?

Keep bottles upright in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ensure the lid is tightly closed to prevent skinning and contamination.

Is this paint safe to thin with water?
