This 1/27-scale chassis set is built specifically for the Mini-Z MR-04EVO2 platform and is sold as a performance-focused EVO2 upgrade in Kyosho's Mini-Z lineup.
The MR-04EVO2 is a major step in the MR series evolution introduced at the end of 2023, the first full model update in 14 years while retaining core MR-03 architecture. The platform incorporates a sensored brushless motor, a revised front suspension layout, a lower battery position for a reduced center of gravity, and upgraded high-speed radio communications. These refinements target improved steering accuracy and straight-line stability on circuit tracks.
As a chassis set, the emphasis is on mechanical and electronic components rather than cosmetic shells. Key hardware items include a stiffer Front Suspension Arm 2.0, front knuckles with integrated kingpins for better camber retention, and seven 3 mm inner-diameter ball bearings to cut rotational losses. Battery mounting is lower than prior MR-03 designs to help cornering balance. A ball differential is included to manage slip and traction trade-offs. Gyro and some radio parts are not provided so builders can choose compatible options that suit class regulations and personal setup. ESC and motor RPM adjustments are accessible through the I.C.S. Setting Manager to meet Mini-Z Cup specifications effective 2025.
This chassis set provides a clear upgrade option within the Mini-Z family, emphasising suspension refinements, lower battery placement, and reduced bearing drag for improved lap consistency and tuning flexibility.
