Durability and service life notes

This Yokomo YOKSD414KB king pin ball stud is supplied as an R/C replacement for MR-4TC SD and BD chassis types. It functions as the ball-end interface in the front steering setup, replacing worn studs or enabling small geometry adjustments for improved handling.

Regular inspection is recommended: check the ball/socket interface for wear, signs of flattening, or play. Light lubrication with a plastic- or metal-compatible lube will reduce wear. Replace the stud when excessive play appears to maintain predictable steering response.

Properly installed and maintained, the component will deliver consistent steering feedback. Small changes in ball position or size can influence roll center and bump steer, so monitor wear and make incremental tuning adjustments during testing.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Look for play at the ball/socket joint, visible flattening on the ball, or looseness when steering is moved by hand. Any of these signs means the stud should be replaced to avoid unpredictable handling.
Use a light lubricant compatible with the ball material and adjacent plastics or metals; avoid heavy greases that attract dirt. A small amount applied periodically will limit wear and keep movement smooth.
Minor scuffing can often be remedied with cleaning and lubrication, but any measurable play or deformation calls for replacement to retain precise steering characteristics.
