This part is supplied as a replacement/upgrade for the Mugen Seiki MRX4 and MRX4-R chassis under part number MRX4-19/TI. It functions as a small protection device to reduce direct shock and load on the servo linkage during crashes or heavy steering forces.
How it works: the saver provides a sacrificial damping interface between the servo horn and steering linkage, limiting the transmission of impact energy to the servo and steering gears. Drivers use it to maintain consistent steering feel and extend the working life of the servo by introducing a buffer point in the steering travel.
Fitment tips: install the part where the original steering saver or linkage mount sits on MRX4/MRX4-R steering systems; check alignment on your chassis before tightening hardware. Use common RC hand tools and confirm steering moves freely through full lock.
Tuning notes: once installed, adjust servo travel and end-points so the saver engages at the intended travel. Run cautious test laps to validate steering response before competitive use.
