Aftermarket 1st pinion for MRX-5 cars

This 16T aftermarket pinion fits the Mugen MRX-5 range and is manufactured from 7075-T6 aluminium with a hard-coated surface to resist wear while retaining low weight. It is designed for the clutch and pinion stage on 1/8 scale racing and hobby vehicles.

Fitting advice: install the pinion on the clutch pinion shaft using your usual service routine, adjust mesh to the recommended clearance and ensure the motor and spur rotate freely before use. Observe clutch preload and re-test engagement after changing gears to protect the spur and clutch components.

Gearing impact: altering pinion teeth changes the car's final drive and alters throttle and braking feel on clutch-driven setups; the 16T gives a distinct ratio useful when fine-tuning acceleration versus top speed with available spur gears.
