Designed specifically for pitching dampers on 1/12 on-road competition cars, this black-finished spring is marked volume 5.0 and intended as a replacement element for YR-X12-series pitching dampers. It adds a defined spring rate to the damper stack, helping manage forward pitch during braking and acceleration.

Fitting is simple for those with damper experience: open the pitching damper, remove the original coil, place the Yokomo YX-40SBK into the retainer, then reassemble and confirm smooth movement. Routine damper service tools are sufficient for the job.

In practice, the YX-40SBK spring should be evaluated as part of a full pitch setup: combine it with different damper oils and piston choices to balance front-end feel and lap consistency on the YR-X12 platform.
