Overview of the Pla-Paper by Tamiya

Tamiya Pla-Paper offers a thin, flexible plastic sheet that handles like paper while measuring 0.2mm thick in B4 format (364x257mm). The three-sheet pack is handy for small-scale custom projects and trim pieces on RC kits.

Cutting and Joining Tips for Modellers

These sheets are easy to cut with standard scissors or a sharp hobby blade, enabling accurate shapes and overlays. They bond well with Tamiya cement; if you try another adhesive, check compatibility on a scrap piece first.

Painting and Surface Work

You can draw guide lines with pencils or ballpoints before finishing, and Pla-Paper takes spray lacquers as well as enamel and acrylic paints from the Tamiya range. That flexibility lets you add colour accents and decals with confidence.

Pencils and ballpoint pens write cleanly on Pla-Paper. Permanent markers may work but test first to check for smudging or solvent interaction.
Mild curves are possible by heating gently and shaping, but exercise caution and try on a scrap to avoid warping.
Adhesion to polycarbonate can be tricky; mechanical fixing or double-sided tape is often safer unless you can confirm an adhesive that bonds both materials.
Light primer followed by thin, even coats of paint gives best results. Allow drying between coats and handle sheets with gloves to avoid fingerprints.
