7075 alloy insert set for PROMOTO-MX gearcases

This insert set replaces worn gearbox seating points in the PROMOTO-MX transmission with machined 7075 alloy parts, offering superior abrasion resistance compared with stock plastic inserts. The alloy seats create a durable bearing surface where shafts and bushes locate.

Installation is aimed at hobby-level maintenance: remove the transmission cover, press out the old inserts and install the new alloy pieces. Some minor trimming of the housing flash or a careful press-fit may be needed to achieve correct seating; secure fasteners to the recommended torque and avoid over-stressing the case. Properly fitted inserts help maintain alignment and reduce drivetrain looseness for more consistent gear action.

These components are intended solely for 1/4 scale PROMOTO-MX RC motorcycles and must not be used on real motorcycles. Verify the compatible model codes below before fitting.

Are any special tools required to fit MX038/SP?

A small arbor press or a soft-jawed vice makes installation easier, but careful hand pressing with an appropriate drift will also work for most users.

The inserts are sized to match original seating so gear spacing should remain unchanged, though verify mesh after installation and adjust shimming if needed.

Can I reuse the old inserts?
