Protec 4 - design and practical use

The Protec 4 is an RC-scale reprint of an Associated-era American off-road body from the 1980s. Its straighter, edge-focused lines recreate the period look rather than the rounded cockpit shapes that came later, giving 1/10 electric buggies a distinctive vintage style.

The kit ships with the main shell plus an under cowl to provide extra lower coverage on dusty tracks, helping to protect batteries, receivers, and other electronics from debris. The reprinted body keeps the visual hallmarks of the original Associated design while offering practical protection for dusty conditions.

Fit notes: this shell is specified for YZ-870C platforms and is also compatible with YZ-10 chassis. Before final installation confirm body post spacing and clearance over roll cages and on-board components; modest trimming and mount tweaks are commonly required to achieve a neat, secure fit. This is a styling and protection accessory rather than a performance upgrade, with only minor effects on scale aerodynamics.
