Precision steering block for competitive drifting

This aluminium front steering block is a bolt-in RC upgrade tailored to Yokomo's RD, SD and MD drift chassis. The design breaks the axle, steering block and upper holder into separate components so each part can be serviced or swapped independently.

The included shim set lets you tweak trail and kingpin angle so steering geometry can be adjusted without replacing the main casting. Versus the stock resin axle assembly, the aluminium build raises structural stiffness and refines steering feedback, improving how the front tyres track during fast, linked transitions.

It is aimed at alignment-focused tuning: precise trail and kingpin changes let you tune steering personality for smooth painted concrete and other surfaces where small geometry shifts have a big effect. The unit preserves a scale look and is made for RC drift applications only.

Specifications

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Remove the stock axle/steering assembly and replace with the RD-415SABL unit, transferring any bearing or hardware as required. Follow the chassis manual torque specs when tightening fasteners to protect threads and ensure correct steering geometry.
Expect a firmer steering feel and crisper response due to higher rigidity. Small shim adjustments alter trail and kingpin to refine turn-in and mid-drift stability; test in increments to find the best balance.
Most existing servo and linkage parts remain compatible. Verify clearance and linkage length after installation; in some setups minor trim or different servo-saver settings may optimise the feel.
Yes. The split design allows you to replace individual elements or change shims at the track without swapping the entire assembly, making it convenient for on-the-spot tuning.
