Rear pitching damper spring (soft rate)

This setting spring suits the rear pitching damper on Yokomo R12 shocks and comes in a softer rate than the standard Yokomo option. It is supplied as a direct replacement to change rear pitching behaviour without modifying shock bodies or pistons.

To fit, remove the shock cap and spring retainer, take off the original spring, and slide the R12-18RSS onto the shock shaft, setting preload as required and refitting the retainer. Only standard shock maintenance tools and a hex driver for shock end screws are needed.

In practice the softer spring reduces rear pitch stiffness, helping with traction and smoother weight transfer on slippery surfaces; when you soften springs, remember to review damping and anti-roll bar settings to retain predictable handling.
