Replacement rear transmission housing for YZ-4

This item is an RC-scale replacement rear transmission housing designed specifically for the YZ-4 4WD off-road chassis. Constructed from a graphite-mixed resin, the housing increases rigidity compared with standard plastic parts without compromising suitability for hobby applications.

The left and right halves join to form a sealed assembly that restricts entry of dust and small stones, which helps maintain spur and pinion engagement and prolongs the life of drivetrain components. The split form factor also makes routine inspection and maintenance straightforward for home workshops.

For tuning and setup the housing performs two clear functions: it protects gears in rough driving conditions, and its greater stiffness can alter drivetrain flex characteristics relative to more compliant housings, offering builders another parameter to refine rear-end handling on YZ-4 setups.

Compatibility

  • Supported Chassis: B-YZ4
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The housing is listed for the YZ-4 rear transmission and supports the B-YZ4 chassis. Modifications that change mounting points may require verification before fitment.
Graphite in the resin raises structural stiffness and can improve resistance to stress under load, which helps maintain gear alignment and reduces the chance of deformation during demanding runs.
The sealed split reduces contaminant ingress but periodic disassembly to inspect gear meshes and bearings is still recommended, especially after extended off-road use.
