This static 1:700 plastic kit depicts the French Navy battleship Richelieu as configured in 1946 and is intended for detailed display, with options to build a waterline scene or a full-hull model.
Launched in January 1939, Richelieu had a complex wartime career. After relocating to Dakar in 1940 she later returned to Allied control in 1942. A refit at the Brooklyn Navy Yard in January 1943 upgraded her radar and anti-aircraft armament, replacing older 37mm and 13.2mm mounts with 40mm Bofors and 20mm Oerlikons. She served with the British Home Fleet on Norwegian operations in early 1944 and saw later action in the Far East before returning to French service following the end of World War II.
Assembly and finishing notes: the kit targets hobbyists experienced in historical ship modelling. Components are distributed across multiple sprues with separate lower and upper hull and deck pieces to accommodate either display style. Decals reflect postwar identification used when Richelieu re-entered French ports in 1946. Reference photos are recommended for accurate painting and final weathering to match the 1946 refit.
A detailed 1:700 Richelieu kit offering flexible presentation choices, aimed at collectors and modellers seeking historical accuracy in a compact format.
