RP Ultra front coil spring RP-103BRA for YZ-2T/4

The Yokomo RP-103BRA spring is engineered for front suspension use in RC competition, offering a 1mm longer free length compared with the regular RP family to change preload and the initial travel curve.

Manufactured as a hard brown spring, it provides a balance of rigidity and compliance designed to improve turn-in feel and consistent feedback on carpeted race circuits for buggies and truck setups. Use it when stronger front control is required to curb excessive diving and to preserve steering accuracy mid-corner.

Fitting is standard for coil-over shocks: replace the front spring with the RP-103BRA, set preload relative to your baseline, and then adjust shock oil or mounting position if necessary to regain desired ride height and handling balance. Tune slowly and test on your carpet track to learn how the extra millimeter affects behavior.

How durable is the RP-103BRA under regular carpet racing?

The RP-103BRA's harder wire and brown finish are chosen for longevity under high-frequency cornering on carpet. Normal wear is minimal if springs are not overstressed by extreme setups or damaged by improper assembly.

Are there any signs of fatigue to watch for?

Check for coil deformation, loss of free length, or inconsistent spring rate after extended use. Replace if you notice permanent sag or irregular handling compared with a fresh spring.

Does the extra 1mm length affect spring life?

The 1mm increase alters preload but does not inherently reduce lifespan. Proper installation and avoiding overcompression will keep longevity comparable to the standard RP series.
