This single-piece 48T Delrin main gear is made for the HPI Savage 21 and supplied as one unit. It uses Delrin to provide reduced friction and a degree of wear resistance while remaining a neutral drivetrain component rather than a performance upgrade.

Installation should follow the Savage 21 gearbox access steps: remove the old main gear, inspect mating teeth and bearings for signs of wear, and install the replacement while setting the correct mesh. Use standard backlash checks and avoid changing other driveline components during the swap.

Used as a replacement or tuning service item, the Delrin gear keeps the same ratio unless a different tooth count is fitted. Expect a change in acoustic profile and running feel versus metal options, so check fit and initial run-in before heavy use.
