This alloy differential lock is built for HPI Savage platforms, including Savage, Savage X and Savage K4.6. It upgrades the internal diff components to provide a firmer engagement pattern that helps when dialing in traction and load transfer on variable terrain.
Installation focuses on replacing the internal diff parts while using the existing diff housing and factory mounting points. Ensure correct mesh with the spur and pinion and confirm there is no interference across the full range of suspension movement before finishing the build.
As part of a tuning setup the diff lock reduces undesired differential slip under throttle and braking, improving predictability during corner exits and weight shifts on loose or grippy surfaces. Combine it with appropriate gearing and damper settings for best results.
Regular checks of engagement faces and bearings are recommended after hard runs. Remove any debris and re-lubricate with suitable differential grease to keep performance consistent over time.
