The Tamiya 18623 Savanna Leo is a standout Mini 4WD release, born from Hidemasa Komatsu's winning entry for the 25th Anniversary project. The sculpted body draws on savanna imagery and brings a strong visual identity to the track or display shelf.
Using the MS chassis with a mid-mounted Type 130 motor, the Savanna Leo balances stability and speed. It comes with an N-02 nose piece and large dish wheels that suit high-velocity setups, and the shell is interchangeable with other MS-based models for creative builds.
This kit assembles via a three-piece detachable chassis and does not require cement, making it quick to put together. The drivetrain uses a 4:1 gear ratio to deliver brisk acceleration, and the model requires two R6/AA/UM3 alkaline batteries, sold separately. The platform is well suited to tuning and aftermarket parts.
