Compact SB2U for 1:700 naval dioramas

This 1:700 plastic kit portrays the SB2U scout bomber as a compact naval aircraft intended for display in multi-plane decks and small diorama scenes.

The SB2U was designed as a carrier-capable scout bomber in the mid-1930s for the United States Navy. As a single-engine monoplane it performed reconnaissance and light bombing roles during the late interwar period and in the early phase of World War II before being replaced by newer carrier aircraft.

The kit builds from several sprues into a small finished model appropriate for grouped carrier displays. The parts and sprue count aim for simplified assembly at this scale, and the decal sheet depicts period US Navy insignia. Exact finished dimensions are supplied to assist with display planning.

Specifications

  • Scale: 1:700
  • Assembly: Plastic model kit
  • Plastic parts: 54 pieces

An economical 1:700 SB2U kit suitable for collectors and modellers creating period carrier scenes or compact naval displays.

The kit is scaled and detailed for modellers comfortable with small-scale assembly; basic experience with fine parts is recommended.
Parts are injection-moulded across six sprues; careful trimming and light sanding are advised due to the small scale.
The included decals are scaled for the model; using decal setting solution and careful placement will improve fit on the compact surfaces.
Finished measurements are Length 14.80 mm and Width 18.29 mm, suitable for planning multi-aircraft displays on small carrier decks.
