Can I use this with aftermarket crankcases?

It will work with crankcases that share the same mounting pattern as Serpent 710/950. Check bolt hole spacing before fitting aftermarket cases.

Does the monoblock need shims for perfect alignment?

Some engines require thin shims to fine tune head height and squareness; inspect alignment after initial fit and correct with shims if necessary.

Will this change carburettor position or pipe fitment?

The monoblock keeps the original mounting footprint, so carb and pipe position should be unchanged on compatible Serpent installations.

Is the finish prone to chipping after crashes?

Anodising is robust but can be scratched in heavy impacts. It protects the aluminium from corrosion and general wear during normal use.
