On-Track Focused Design for the Serpent 903016 Viper 977 EVO-2

Rooted in decades of racing development, the Serpent 903016 Viper 977 EVO-2 blends nitro power with chassis precision for the 1/8 on-road class. The 4WD belt drive helps maintain traction and stability through a variety of cornering conditions.

Mechanical Highlights and Power Delivery

At the heart of the car is a 5mm 7075 T6 aluminium chassis that balances stiffness and measured flex. The Centax true motion clutch combined with the two-speed XLi-8 gearbox produces reliable power transfer and smooth acceleration on exits.

Chassis Dynamics and Suspension Tuning

Independent double wishbone suspension paired with low big bore dampers gives a controlled contact patch and predictable weight transfer. The tight rear pivots and adjustable geometry let you adapt the car for different grip levels, and the front one-way units with a solid rear axle sharpen traction.

Setup Flexibility and Component Access

The Viper 977 EVO-2 supports detailed setup changes from camber to roll centre. Its carbon fibre radioplate and aluminium flex mounting make component swaps and tuning straightforward for trackside changes.

Yes, the low big bore shocks accept a variety of springs, pistons and oils to tune rebound and bump characteristics for different surfaces.
Basic RC workshop tools plus some metric spanners and a clutch/gearbox toolset will cover the build. A shock bleed kit and precision measuring tools are helpful for fine tuning.
