Upgrade Route from 960-08 to the 966 Layout
The Serpent 903326 conversion kit contains all required components to change a 960-08 into the 966 specification. It arrives with a machined chassis plate, aluminium and carbon rear-end parts, a dedicated brake unit and a complete set of more than 170 steel allen screws, along with the new bearings needed for smooth running.
Chassis Plate Built for Strength and Weight Savings
The 966 chassis plate uses aluminium 7075 T6, an aerospace-grade material chosen for strength and lightness. Precision CNC work produces chamfered edges to stop binding in corners. The plate includes countersunk holes for allen screws, a cooling pocket below the engine, and clear locations for engine-mount screws and rear brackets, plus space for an optional brass front plate or a carbon fibre insert.
Compact Low-Mount Brake Design
The kit fits a low-mounted brake assembly to help lower the centre of gravity. Spring-loaded brake plates slide on polished steel shafts for consistent braking, while a ball-raced, hard-anodised brake cam presses evenly using larger pins seated in the aluminium bracket.
Accurate 2-Speed Shaft Mounts
CNC-machined anodised aluminium brackets ensure correct bearing seating for the 2-speed shaft. These brackets also accommodate the ball-raced rear anti-roll bar and are compatible with carbon fibre side brackets to stiffen the assembly.
Rear Axle Supports That Simplify Service
The anodised and CNC-machined aluminium rear axle supports boost rigidity and make servicing easier. The arrangement allows simple belt tensioning and quick access to the rear shaft, pulley and belt; eccentric inserts give three belt-tension positions for setup flexibility.
Tunable Suspension Brackets and Shock Tower
Anodised aluminium suspension brackets securely locate the lower rear pivot pins. Included 4mm carbon fibre suspension brackets and a rear shock tower with four shock-angle positions expand tuning options for different track surfaces.
