Viper 990R Chassis and Upgrade Notes

For tuners who enjoy setup work, the Serpent Viper 990R takes the 990 EVO concept further with practical upgrades. The kit features a revised chassis, a larger fuel tank footprint to allow bigger batteries, and beefed up rear bulkheads to withstand more running.

Layout Changes for Better Handling

The rear of the chassis has been stiffened by removing unnecessary cutouts, improving rotation and stability. The reshaped fuel tank creates space for larger battery packs while remaining simple to fit. Upgraded rear bulkheads and anti-roll bar mounts reduce service time when adjusting the car.

Gearbox and Steering Enhancements

The 2-speed gearbox uses a single-piece shaft for dependable power transfer and adds a groove to secure bearings accurately. The bumper system accepts carbon stiffeners and body supports so you can tune stiffness. Front upper arm bushings increase caster repeatability and side stiffeners help control chassis roll.

Materials and Tuning Range

The 5mm 7075 T6 aluminum chassis plate gives a consistent flex profile and sensible weight balance. The front anti-roll bar is quick to adjust and the pivot ball link setup simplifies suspension changes. Included components like tough wishbones, shock mount plates, and pivot pin inserts support a wide range of camber and caster setups.
