This 1:32 plastic assembly kit models the Shenyang FT-6 two-seat supersonic trainer, intended primarily for display construction rather than play use.
The FT-6 was derived from the single-seat F-6 fighter, which itself reflected the MiG-19 design. Shenyang created the two-seat trainer to enable pilots to convert to supersonic types when subsonic trainers could not meet requirements. The first prototype flight occurred on 6 November 1970; PLA Air Force trials took place in January 1972, production approval arrived in November 1973 and production continued until 1986.
Because it is a 1:32 representation, the kit provides pronounced surface detail and a strong presence once completed. Builders should use archival photos and specialist references to inform paint and marking choices. The focus here is on the subject and scale rather than enumerating box contents or aftermarket accessories.
This kit offers a substantial, accurate external depiction of the Shenyang FT-6, ideal for display-quality constructions.
