High-consistency silicone oil for shock tuning

This Yokomo YOKRP-085275 Ultra Shock Oil is a silicone formulation intended for RC shock absorbers to support damping setup. It is supplied as a replacement or tuning fluid for shocks that require a uniform silicone base, and it should only be used in model car suspension components.

Role in tuning: the oil sets the rate of damping by resisting piston motion within the shock body. Using a heavier or lighter viscosity affects traction, cornering response, weight transfer and rebound. Incorporate this oil into step-by-step tuning, swapping one variable at a time to isolate handling effects.

Installation notes: empty the existing oil, inspect seals and shock shafts for damage, then refill slowly to limit trapped air. Work the shock through its travel to bleed out bubbles and top up if necessary. Employ proper syringes or shock pumps designed for RC shock servicing to avoid contamination and overfilling.

Handling and storage: ensure caps are secure, keep the bottle upright at room temperature away from sunlight, and do not mix with other oil types. Dispose of waste oil in accordance with local regulations for chemical fluids.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Watch for changes in damping feel, contamination, or foaming. If performance shifts or the oil looks discoloured, service the shocks and replace the fluid.
Inspect seals and shafts during service. Silicone oil is generally compatible, but worn seals or rough shafts can accelerate leakage or contamination. Replace any damaged parts before refilling.
Keep the cap tight, store the bottle upright at room temperature out of direct sunlight, and seal well to preserve viscosity and prevent contamination.
