Overview of Silicone Shock Fluid

The Yokomo YOKYS900 Super Blend Shock Oil #900 is blended from silicone compounds for use in RC-scale shock absorbers. It functions as the damping medium inside oil-filled shock units and is designed exclusively for model suspension tuning, not for any full-size vehicle application.

Used as a tuning fluid, this oil evens out damping behaviour by lubricating piston travel and regulating fluid flow through shock ports. In proper silicone-filled shocks, it contributes to smoother rebound and compression, enabling drivers to refine handling without mechanical changes.

For replacement or maintenance, prepare a clean workspace and protect the bottle and shocks from dust. Remove old fluid completely, check shafts and seals for damage, and refill following the shock maker's fill guidelines to prevent excessive aeration. After assembly, cycle the shock to eliminate air pockets and confirm even damping across all units.

Tuning guidance: match fluid weight and piston selection to the handling you want. Thinner oils lower damping for quicker response, while thicker oils increase damping to slow motion and stabilise the model. Make small adjustments and note settings for consistent results.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Any shock assembly that is intended to use silicone oil can accept this product, as long as the chosen viscosity suits your setup.
After filling, repeatedly compress the shock while upright to release trapped air, then top up and recheck for consistent operation.
Store the bottle sealed at a steady temperature, keep dirt and water away, and replace the cap quickly after use.
