Ultra Shock Oils #25 — Fine-tuning damper feel

The Yokomo YOKRP-085250 Ultra Shock Oils #25 Racing Performer serves as a silicone shock fluid for RC-scale dampers, intended to help set and tune damping characteristics in silicone-filled shocks.

As a tuning medium, changing the fluid viscosity modifies rebound and compression rates by adjusting how the oil flows past pistons and orifices, allowing fine control over suspension response without altering hardware.

Service shocks in a controlled area: remove old oil completely, inspect internal parts such as pistons and seals for damage, then refill with the selected viscosity and perform consistent test runs to compare results. Label and record each viscosity used to replicate preferred setups later.

Approach viscosity swaps methodically, combine them with spring or shock position tweaks, and judge the impact with short, repeatable tests so you can isolate the effect of the oil change on handling.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The 25wt designation indicates a mid-range silicone viscosity that slows oil flow moderately; it tends to increase damping in both rebound and compression compared with lighter fluids, producing a more controlled but still responsive feel.
Mixing alters effective viscosity and can tune performance, but it reduces repeatability. For predictable setups use a single known viscosity and move between weights in small steps.
Keep bottles sealed, stored upright in a cool dry place away from direct light. Mark opened bottles with the viscosity and date to track shelf life and avoid contamination.
