Steel rear CVD shaft for Slash 4x4 rigs

This rear CVD universal swing shaft is supplied as a steel replacement part for TRAXXAS SLASH 4X4 chassis. The design combines a hardened steel shaft with a spring steel cup to keep articulation reliable during hobby use and to resist deformation under load.

Fitment and role: intended to replace the stock rear CVD swing shaft, this unit aims to cut down drivetrain flex and limit wear, delivering steadier response under aggressive throttle and suspension movement. It interfaces with the existing Slash 4x4 differential and axle mounting points without altering motor, ESC, or suspension setup.

Installation notes: check bearings and pins prior to installation, fit the cup joint in the correct orientation, and tighten fasteners to the factory torque values for the Slash 4x4. Verify there is no binding by moving the suspension through its full travel and turning the drivetrain by hand.

Tuning and maintenance: built for hobby-level performance, keep the cup joint clean from dirt, inspect for any play at the joint or spline, and replace components showing wear. Apply grease to splines to preserve engagement life.

Specifications

  • Item Rear CVD universal swing shaft, 1 pr
  • Material Steel shaft with spring steel cup joint
  • Model Number SSLA1277RST
  • Compatibility TRAXXAS SLASH 4X4

Ideal when you want a tougher rear CVD swing shaft for Slash 4x4 projects; adhere to recommended installation checks and upkeep for best results.

It reduces flex compared with stock shafts and helps keep power transfer more consistent, but overall performance depends on drivetrain condition and motor power.
If the existing cups show no wear and fit correctly, they can be reused; check for distortion or play before reusing them.
A general RC spline grease is suitable; apply sparingly to avoid attracting grit while keeping interfaces lubricated.
