The Yokomo YOKD170Y is supplied as a two piece spring set, rated 1.2 x 9.5 turn in yellow. These springs are intended for hobby use on scale drift and touring chassis where spring selection affects handling and drift character.

Fitting is simple: replace the current spring on compatible shock assemblies without modifying the shock body, and keep preload and shock oil consistent when testing. Make sure each side uses the same coil count and seating to preserve symmetry at baseline setup.

Setup impact: the 1.2mm wire with 9.5 turns yields a mid-range stiffness that aids in controlled slide initiation and steady mid-slide behavior. Adjust roll and slide tendencies by varying preload, shock oil grade, or mixing with alternate spring rates depending on track surface and driving preference.
