This aluminium motor stiffener is an RC-scale upgrade for TAMIYA TA05-IFS and TA05-R chassis, released by 3Racing as model TA05-IF09/LB. It provides reinforcement around the motor mounting area to reduce flex when the drivetrain is stressed.
Compatibility is confined to the TA05-IFS and TA05-R configurations noted above, and the component is intended to replace or supplement the stock motor mount used on those Tamiya chassis. The aluminium build increases rigidity where the motor attaches to the gearbox and chassis plates.
Installation: the stiffener installs at the motor region and mates with the existing chassis and motor mount locations on TA05-IFS and TA05-R. Fitting usually follows the original mounting points and does not require changes to drivetrain geometry, making it a straightforward tuning addition.
Tuning notes: upgrading to an aluminium motor stiffener helps limit motor movement under load, which stabilises pinion-spur contact and can improve repeatable performance across runs. Combine with suspension and gearbox settings for best results.
