Handy 1/12 Scale Tribute to the Tyrrell 003

Tamiya 12039 captures the historic Tyrrell 003, the car that delivered five victories and the 1971 title with designer Derek Gardner and driver Jackie Stewart. The kit mirrors the signature nose profile and comes with newly added photo-etched elements to boost the model's authenticity.

Enhanced Finishing with Photo-Etched Pieces

Key components like brake discs, radiator details, rear wing tips and belt buckles are supplied as photo-etched parts for a sharper, more accurate finish. Cloth-type seat belts are included to add genuine texture to the cockpit area.

Build Choices for Two Seasons

Builders can assemble the model in either the 1971 or 1972 specification to match their preference. Cartograf decals provide fine-scale markings, and the refreshed box presentation keeps parts secure and easy to sort.

Yes, cloth-style seat belts are supplied to improve cockpit realism and are ready to fit during final assembly.
The kit includes options that let you build the Tyrrell 003 as it appeared in either the 1971 or 1972 season, with decals to suit both versions.
Use model-specific plastic cement and thin enamel or acrylic paints listed in the recommended paints section for best results. Small brushes or an airbrush give the cleanest finish.
