In 1971, Bernie Ecclestone hired Gordon Murray to create a fresh F-1 automobile to revitalize the Brabham F-1 group. Murray dedicated to creating a concise, lightweight automobile which was simple. The effect was in fact the BT42. This vehicle showcased a characteristic pyramid monocoque, a DFV engine installed on the aluminum framework and radiators mounted inside front wing for enhanced cooling performance.
