The Tamiya 12048 Ferrari 312B recreates the look and mechanical feel of the early 1970s F1 car at 1/12 scale. Photo-etched components are included to enhance small details, and the kit suits builders who enjoy careful, hands-on assembly. This release follows the original tooling last made available in 1998.
Both front and rear suspension assemblies are modelled with moving linkages for a convincing presentation. The nose section can be removed to reveal the internal assembly, and the steerable front wheels combine with synthetic rubber tyres featuring period tread for authentic wheel stance. Photo-etched parts provide fine-scale elements like buckle hardware, disc brakes and radiator meshes.
Small metal transfers and seatbelt decals add micro-detail while supplied vinyl tubing represents ignition wiring. The kit includes a cockpit figure and Cartograf sheets with markings used by Jacky Ickx, Clay Regazzoni and Mario Andretti. Finished length is 432mm, giving a substantial model for display cases.
