Scale Zimmerit finish for 1/35 Elefant builds

For modellers chasing authentic WWII surface detail, the Tamiya 12644 1/35 Elefant Zimmerit Coating Sheet is a tidy solution. It replicates the anti-magnetic paste finish seen on German tank destroyers and is made to pair with the 1/35 German Heavy Tank Destroyer Elefant kit (35325). This avoids the fuss of sculpting Zimmerit from putty.

Accurate texture without the heavy lifting

Zimmerit was applied to stop magnetic charges from adhering to armour. Reproducing that texture freehand can be time consuming and uneven. The textured sticker panels deliver consistent results fast. Place the panels onto the hull, smooth them down, then prime and paint for a convincing finish.

Two texture styles on one sheet

The coating sheet contains two different Zimmerit motifs so you can choose the pattern that best matches your kit option or reference material. That flexibility helps keep your model faithful to historical detail.

Specifications

  • Scale: 1/35
  • Material: Sticker Sheet
  • Compatibility: German Heavy Tank Destroyer Elefant (35325)
  • Includes: Two Zimmerit patterns
Clean the area of dust and grease, and lightly sand gloss finishes so the sticker bonds evenly. Dry-fit the pieces first to check alignment before removing the backing.
Allow the adhesive to settle for a short time, then prime with a suitable model primer. Once the primer is dry you can paint as normal to blend the texture with the surrounding surfaces.
