Precision Model of the 1998 Repsol Honda NSR500

The Tamiya 14071 presents a finely detailed 1/12 scale model of the Repsol Honda NSR500 ridden by Michael Doohan in the 1998 season. The kit focuses on accurate proportions and race-specific detailing to satisfy scale motorcycle fans.

The engine is modelled as a 2-stroke, 4-cylinder unit with the crankcase and airbox moulded together for correct alignment and easier assembly. Once completed, the engine is secured to the main frame using small screws for a stable, authentic result.

Body cowls are formed to allow removal after assembly so you can display the bike with internal parts visible. Waterslide decals and step-by-step illustrated instructions are supplied to assist in painting and finishing the original Repsol colours.

  • Scale: 1/12
  • Length: 168mm
  • Width: 54mm
  • Height: 90mm
  • Material: Plastic
  • Assembly: Requires assembly
  • Decals: Waterslide included
  • Stand: Included
Basic modelling paints, brushes and modelling glue are required; fine tweezers and a hobby knife are useful for decal placement and trimming parts.
The crankcase and airbox are supplied as a single moulded component while other engine parts assemble around it, helping maintain correct fit and detail.
Yes, the kit is designed so the cowls can be detached to reveal the internals, making it great for display or photo shoots.
